With some Skipton schools closing for half term holidays this coming Thursday, I have the prospect of a shorter week of available lesson slots. There are a couple of available spaces, though, should you want to book in:
- Monday 19th October
- 17:00 (30 mins)
- Tuesday 20th October
- 11:15 (2 x 30 mins)
I am taking a week off for half term holidays to look after my son (while access to holiday clubs etc is limited). So, there will be no lessons from Saturday 24th October to Saturday 31st October. Music lessons will resume on Monday 2nd November.
Online Karaoke Club
This week I convinced my sister, Michelle, who has never had the benefit of music or singing lessons in her life, to partake in some karaoke, in aid of UNICEF. She had a sing of the classic party song Build Me Up Buttercup. You can listen to her excellent rendition here:

- Heading to one of the many karaoke music channels on YouTube such as Sing King.
- Choose a song and practise singing along with the backing track.
- Record yourself doing it (either with video or, if you’re shy like Michelle, just turn the camera the other way).
- * When you record, make sure that you have the YouTube karaoke track in headphones rather than coming out of speakers *
- Send the YouTube link that you used over to me, along with the video file ( you can email large files easily by heading over to WeTransfer.com )
- I’ll put some images on it to encourage other people to donate and participate, then upload to YouTube. You can then share the clip with your friends and family.
